My visit to Carlo's Bakery Shop in Hoboken

Last month, July 2012, i paid a visit to Carlo's Bakery Shop in Hoboken. Long queues, rain, but it was worth it. The pastries were delicious!! And such a big variety! And it was cheaper than expected!!

What disappointed me a lot (!!!!) was the way the girl who had to give us our pastries treated us... I told her i wanted 1 carrot cupcake, 1 vanilla cupcake, 1 chocolate cupcake, and 1 of each of the little Italian cookies.. Then she screamed!! "Just onnnee??!!???" And I was like... hello? I want to taste them, I came here to have one of each to see what I like.. She made some stupid comment with the cashier and then laughed.. I think it was totally disrespectful and it made me really sad because I know Buddy Valastro would never treat us like this employee did... but OK..

Everything was very delicious, that I must say!! :D

Chocolate cupcake baking mix !

The other day i baked some chocolate cupcakes which really turned out to be quiet good!! I had bought the baking mix at Target. I am not a big fan of baking mixes BUT, this one, Betty Crocker Chocolate Cupcakes Baking Mix, was really good and i will buy it again!!


It is quiet easy to make, just add water, oil and 2 eggs, plus it was quiet cheap!! 30 minutes in the oven and the chocolate cupcakes are ready!

All you need is some frosting. I go these:

Yes, it may sound strange but i didn't know of the existence of cupcakes until i watched Sex and the city. Since i live outside de US i hadn't had any type of contact with those little delicious treasures and the first time i tried a cupcake was at the Magnolia Bakery in New York City last summer.

I know, I was lucky to be able to try them there for the first time, but since I have tasted paradise, it is now difficult not to have too high expectations :)
